There were other people named Gus, such as Gus aka gus01 who made T_Ninja [release thread] & Liu Kang [release thread] in 2005, and Gus Saint, but Gus aka Gushen is not both of them.
Last month in Jan 2026, Gus came back and commented on my Dare? video. There we chatted and Gus decided to share his char pack with me containing both Dicotomizer & Zagoulana. 2 days ago, I got his permission to host them on my site!
Princess Zagoulana was released in March 2003, and mgbr.net noticed it and put it in the news [Source]. But, the files of Princess Zagoulana are from 2001 apparently. The days and months seem correct though. I don't get it. Perhaps a year corruption. This happened to many of the files of Dicotomizer too.
Dicotomizer is a bit of an oddity. In his site, V1.0 of Dicotomizer was unavailable for download because it wasn't done yet [Source2], and eventually it was never released on his site. However, according to the readme, VBeta of Dicotomizer was apparently released, or "test released" sometime around 1/16/2003. However, mgbr.net never put it in the news [Source3], which could mean that they never knew about it, or the char wasn't public. On top of that, DEL & Electrocaid don't have Dicotomizer, but they both do have Zagoulana. So, with all that in mind, and after reading the readme, this is what might have happened: Dicotomizer VBeta was a private test release to a few people to test him out in some forum, probably at Mugen DEV at shinmugen.net. Thus, VBeta was not a, "public release", but a, "test release", only handed out to a few people for testing purposes. Maybe that's what happened. I asked Gus already back in Jan 2026, but he hasn't responded to this question yet.
Use Dos2Win/Conversor v4.5 to convert and fix pal issues. Manual backup of files is recommended by me before using Dos2Win/Conversor.
